The Convention
Conference event branding and visual identity

"A brand cannot build success solely on its product or service story. It needs a real community beneath it, one that emotionally connects to the brand through a set of shared values."

I created a visual identity and event branding for The Convention, a themed series of open debates aimed at enlightening the nation and promoting new thinking. With the founding principle 'Think Anew, Act Anew' (Abraham Lincoln), The Convention is about bringing people together to inform, debate and help shape the future of Britain.

The Convention logo was a simple but attentive lowercase typesetting of a humanist font left intentionally unlaboured for a classic and respectable tone. The event branding featured quote mark graphics to reinforce the concept of discussion and debate. The quote mark graphics acted as a vehicle to carry the 'Think Anew, Act Anew' event mantra and were also used throughout the event branding in wayfinding, signage device and event display material.

The initial Convention was the first large-scale, two-day public debate on the deep impacts of Brexit and the Political Crash. Now on its 4th convention, the event branding is proving to be efficient and effective in its implementation and has gained recognition and respect from the public, the press and its speakers.

My blend of expertise hit a sweet spot that would complement any creative team. If you feel we'd be a good fit, then I'd love to hear from you.
